Wikispaces is a great site for creating wikis to collaborate with classmates for a variety of reasons.
I created this wiki: http://macscreenshots.wikispaces.com/ to demonstrate the use of screenshots AND to show how to incorporate screenshots in a wiki AND to link to more learning opportunities about screenshots AND to demonstrate the creation & use of a wiki.
A picture from a screen can help to clarify what words alone may not be able to do.
It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, if that is so then a moving picture must be worth even more! With that in mind, here is another great resource:
Apowersoft: Free Online Screen Recorder allows you to use a browser on any platform and easily record what's happening on the screen. The result can then be tweeted or easily posted to your blog or even included in a wiki!!

Task: Work with your teaching group to create a protected wikispace on your topic. You are not part of a classroom, so enter Wikispaces as "Everyone Else."
When you create the wiki, BE SURE that it is protected - no one should need to login to see this wiki. One member of your group must create the space and then invite the other members to join. Also, make sure to invite me! Note: A protected wiki will not cost any money - you may need to make/accept a phone call to prove your humanity.
Your topic wikispace should include descriptions of your topic as well as screenshots and embedded videos created by you and/or found on the topic sites or YouTube.
The resulting wiki should be a useful resource to anyone needing to learn more about your topic! Use your local wiki expert.
All of this work should be done with each team member sitting at their assigned computer and communicating through the wiki or some non-verbal (noise-free) method!
